Co-creating with young people

    Community heroes of Lambeth

Our young photographer, Qumia Grant, completed her first ever solo exhibition at the Brixton Rec for the 2022 Windrush celebrations, commissioned by The Brixton Project.

These stunning black and white images capture some of the many businesses, places and people that contribute to Brixton’s unique heritage and culture.

If you can't hear you must feel

Working with a group of young adults at the Marcus Lipton Centre in Brixton, we devised a script about the difficulties in making good choices when faced with the daily challenges of life in a crime ridden environment.

The young people then worked with professional actors to film the script on location over five days.

    Sanctuary refugee project

A group of young refugees launched their photographs at Lambeth Town Hall in 2022. Based on the theme of Sanctuary, the young people responded with images and thoughts of what that idea evoked for them.

Funded by Lambeth ELEVATE, we worked with the young people over three months to train them in photography.
