About Us

Our vision

Creating art that ignites radical global exchange to redesign our world.

Our mission

We connect global majority communities across the ‘Black Atlantic’ to create art that explores the issues that impact their lives, enables them to speak their truth, and drives equity within the creative industries.

Our values

  • We challenge the systems that fail us
  • We centre the global majority
  • We find joy in excellence
  • We create community within and across borders
  • We think big, unafraid of new ideas.

What we do

Oxygen Arts: The creative production agency

We are a creative agency that works with charities and public sector organisations in the UK and Europe and specialises in targeting and working with diverse communities. We are a multi discipline cultural producer that curates compelling film, photography and live performance events and publications. Current projects include Black British Ballet, Liberation Day, a short film about an imagined post Covid society and Two and a Half Questions, our Windrush themed film created with young people.

What we also do

Oxygen Arts: Our work with young people

We deliver a comprehensive programme of arts training to young people of the global majority in the UK and abroad. This includes training in digital media, creative writing, cultural theory and visual arts programmes to young people aged 13 and over.  We work across London and we’re also supporting charity partners in Grenada with looked after children and young people.

Dream. Freedom

Film production

We create essential, relevant documentary and narrative films that represent a range of stories and histories from people of the global majority, in partnership with the young people that we train.

Meet the team

We are a diverse team with a wealth of experience in the creative arts, supporting young people's creativity and wellbeing, and producing art that reflects the experiences of people across the Black Atlantic.

Partners

Partnership working is at the heart of our approach to creating art that matters. We work with traditionally excluded young people and a range of partners to response creatively to the challenges they face.
