We’re delighted to announce that our film, Two and a Half Questions, is now appearing in the third annual Windrush Caribbean Film Festival.
The film features as part of the festival’s virtual programme and will be available to view online until 17 July 2022.
Two and a Half Questions is an exploration of the lives and aspirations of the Windrush generation and those who came after them. Working with a group of young people, the filmmaker, Clovis Lowe, captured interviews with people of Caribbean and African heritage from all walks of life, from lawyers and dancers to politicians, social workers and entrepreneurs.
Their responses uncover attitudes and issues within education, employment, religion and wider society to create a fascinating portrait of the range of experiences that has shaped the black community in London over the past 70 years.
Funded by Lambeth Council’s Elevate Neighbourhoods programme, Oxygen Arts, in partnership with UINCAP capoeira charity, worked with over 30 young people from Lambeth, training them in photography and filmmaking.
The film also features in Picturehouse Cinema’s education programme, making the films available to schools around the country until November 2022.
‘An incredibly important piece of archival work which is touching, sobering and very often incredibly funny.’
